Still Wonderful?

Posted in GEAR, MEDIA on June 30th, 2010 by Steven

After 69 years, Wonder Woman has decided to show less skin…and wear weird 80’s stirrups. I think I prefer the old skool look.

“The new look — with an understated “W” insignia, a midnight blue jacket and a flinty fusion of black tights and boots — is darker than the famed swimsuit-style outfit, and aims to be contemporary, functional and, as Tim Gunn of “Project Runway” might say, less costumey.”

“Given the hope that the character will one day have her own international film franchise (a feature has long been gestating at Warner Entertainment, DC’s parent company), one test of the design was to imagine how it would look standing next to, say, Batman’s politically neutral ensemble. “The original costume was the American flag brought to life,” Mr. Lee said. “This one is a little more universal.”

Moto Liberty

Posted in GEAR, STUNT SECRETS on March 29th, 2010 by Steven

I get a lot of inquires on where to purchase stunt pads. When you’re starting your collection of pads, try to keep different scenarios in mind. Have a collection of softies and hards for different needs and make sure you buy as thin as possible so that they don’t show through your wardrobe (so basically don’t go to a Hockey supply store to buy your girdle and knees).

For my motorcycle pad resource, I love Moto Liberty in Dallas. They have a super comprehensive website, nice close-out deals, and always exceptional customer service. I usually bypass the online purchase and call them direct for more specific questions. Just picked up a new girdle and back protector today.

I AM CONAN Facebook Contest Rules:

Post a picture of yourself (or friend or family member) as Conan on www.facebook.com/IlikeStevenHo. The image doesn’t have to be a direct impersonation, it can also be your personal version of CoCo. So in other words, don’t stress about looking like Conan…focus on capturing the spirit of #imwithcoco.

It’s as important is to be creative with your location and scenario. Photoshopping is not prohibited, but keep in mind that a “grassroots” spirit is encouraged and will be rewarded in the Finals.

ROUND ONE:

All posted photos will be stored under “fan photos” of www.facebook.com/IlikeStevenHo. The top 3 images that have the most “likes” by April 1st, 5pm Pacific time will be entered into the Finals. So it’s best to post your pic up as soon as you can to give yourselves time to get those “like” votes.

THE FINALS:

Later that month (date TBD, based on judges availabilities) a panel of Conan-insider judges will subjectively deem one winner. We’ll do our best to put up a vid of the process and results.

THE PRIZE:

The winner will get a sword from this Conan stunt segment:

Mighty Monkey!

Posted in GEAR on October 15th, 2009 by Steven

Mighty Mo Big Ben sweatshirt with Mr. P Fly on the back.

For my website main page, the featured graffiti is by Mighty Mo in London. In the spirit of Keith Haring, there are a few current graffiti artists who are also blurring the line between graffiti and street art by painting trademark characters or symbols instead of, or in addition to, their names. Mighty Mo is definitely on the forefront of this movement in London and I’m a big fan of his work…and clothing.

Kineseo Tape

Posted in FITNESS & TRAINING TIPS, GEAR on September 30th, 2009 by Steven

I have been aware of Kinesio Tape since the last Olympics, but just tried it yesterday for the first time. My chiropractors Dr. Michael Close and Dr. Christopher George supported by wobbly knee with this and I have to say that I’m hooked. It offers the support of a brace, but without the “general” all-around compression that isn’t always necessary….or comfortable.

Kinesio Tape was created and developed by Dr. Kenzo Kase in 1973. It is a treatment that is felt to prolong the effects of physiologic work done. After many unsuccessful attempts to use adhesive tapes that were commercially available, Dr. Kase developed Kinesio Tex Tape.

The Kinesio Taping Method is felt to cause physiological effects on several body systems. The systems affected by the body are thought to include the circulatory/lymphatic, neural, muscular, and fascial systems, as well as the joints.

If your looking for a great, boutique Chiropractic Wellness Center in Los Angeles that offers Chiropractic, Massage, Acupuncture, etc.. here’s where I go…

Bruce Lee Nokia Phone

Posted in GEAR, OLD SKOOL, WATCH SICK VIDEOS on September 21st, 2009 by Steven

When Nokia China wanted to launch their new Nokia N96 Bruce Lee Edition, they released a series of these sick “vintage” clips featuring Bruce Lee playing ping pong, using his nunchakus as paddles. The viral commercials are obviously CGI masterpieces, but this hasn’t stopped vast internet rumours of this being authentic newly-found footage. The phone has Bruce Lee’s face and signature on the back case, and it’s packed with rare photos of the legendary actor. The phone f urther comes bundled with several accessories and a Bruce Lee doll.

Kicks du Jour

Posted in GEAR on September 19th, 2009 by Steven

I literally crushed my right foot during the last week of TMNT II in 1992 (…or something like that). It took a handful of surgeries and about a year to put me back together again. It’s all good now, but my shoes HAVE to be comfortable or I’m limpin’….and not pimpin’. The exact reason I love these Y-3’s that I picked up at American Rag on La Brea. I think I may have picked up the last pair though…
