Shepard Fairey Mural on WeHo Library

Everything about WeHo’s latest civic project flies in the face of our times: It’s big, bold, expensive, and entails reading. The sparkling 32,000-square-foot West Hollywood Library that opens October 1 is the centerpiece of the Creative City’s West Hollywood Park Master Plan. The new library boasts a massive inventory of digital media, a coffee bar, even rooftop tennis courts. And just as you can’t judge a library by its cladding, three of its exterior walls will come alive October 12 with the unveiling of murals by Shepard Fairey, Retna (aka Marquis Lewis), and Kenny Scharf in a project cooked up by MOCA, Vanity Fair, and Cadillac.
